ARTIST ROOMS: Ron Mueck

As part of the ARTIST ROOMS series, a small collection of work by renowned sculptor Ron Mueck has been brought to Wolverhampton Art Gallery until the 2nd of November this year.

Playing on our perceptions of the human form, Mueck explores a deceptive conflict between reality and fantasy in which extreme scales and breathtaking detail have a profound effect on the viewer. Much of Mueck's work is inspired by stories of myth and folklore, but whilst reveling in his skills to create unbelievably life like figures, we are given permission to form our own narratives for these characters, I feel as though at any moment they are going to move and walk about.
